Beyond Birth - Mental Well-Being in Early Parenthood
The Beyond Birth Workshops set out to help keep your mental health in balance, ease the transition
and build resilience to help you cope with the challenges and enjoy the feel-good moments in late
pregnancy and early parenthood.
The workshop is in six parts – in each session we will explore a new topic and look at these in a variety of ways including:
• Simple mindfulness and visulisations
• Guided relaxation and breathing techniques • Reflective question and answers
• Easy, effective and enjoyable self care techniques
• Creative journaling
What you can expect from each session:
Nurture: An exploration of what you need to nurture yourself and those around you as well as practical ways in which you can invest in more rest.
Emotions: Reflections on vulnerability and how you can find calm amidst intense emotional situations.
Connections: How you can find emotional and physical connections and the benefits of this for you, your loved ones and your baby.
Healing & Recovery: Steps to release yourself from parental guilt and ways in which you can practice acceptance and letting go.
Nourish: Considering how you can find moments that fuel your contentment and how this filters to those around you.
Transformation: Thinking about how you can ease your own transition into parenthood and help yourself accept your new identity.
